Since 1996, Insalata’s has brought the warm spirit of the Mediterranean to Marin County. As an integral part of the community, our Bib Gourmand-awarded restaurant has become a place for every occasion. With menus that strike a balance between familiar flavors and enticing new fare, the restaurant strives to make everyone feel welcome at the table.

My parents, Mark and Heidi Krahling, opened Insalata’s in December of 1996. I started working at Insalata’s when I was a shy middle schooler. I slowly but surely grew to appreciate the social aspects of working with all different types of people that make up our restaurant family. While the Insalata’s “village” is growing and ever-changing, some things remain constant—our talented and hospitable staff serves luscious Mediterranean cuisine made with fresh local ingredients, balancing the tried and true with the innovative. My parents always taught me to work hard, serve the community, and take care of our Insalata’s restaurant family, and I hope to continue that legacy with the help of our special team.
